Principle of Operation
The measuring element of an oval gear meter consists of two high-precision splined oval-shaped gears (Rotors).
The gears are driven by the flow of the media and “mesh” together. In the presence of flow, exact known defined volumes of fluid are swept through the meter per each rotor rotation.
As flow increases, so does the rotational speed of the Rotors.
The number of revolutions is a precise highly accurate measure of the fluid that has passed through the meter. Regardless of viscosity, pressure, or temperature.
Each “active” Rotor rotation creates a pulse and is detected by a sensor. Each meter is individually calibrated per ISO 17025 standards to .5% accuracy

Very well suited for large volume OEM applications where meter space is a key design consideration. Providing .5% accuracy with no flow conditioning requirements these meters are Industrial Grade Robust Flow Measurement Devices.
